About

I’m Laura, I’m the girl that likes to make things!

I live in Colchester with my husband and Waffle, our little border terrier pup.

After studying at University and going on a global adventure (that’s fancy speak for a couple of years backpacking!) I pulled together all my writing know-how and squashed it in with a healthy portion of passion, to work in editorial in the beautiful, exciting and creative sector of craft journalism – working as the editor of the leading trade publication and then moving on to launch a fashion forward sewing magazine. After nearly a decade, (I know, I barely look old enough, right?) I decided to step out into the big wide world and join the merry band of freelance journalists.

Happily for me, I’ve been pretty busy ever since! Working on some really exciting projects from demonstrating and designing, to writing and getting all out creative. I’ve even managed to squeeze in writing a couple of books – you can find out more about them on the Book Shelf

Changing my career, renovating our wonky old home and spending increasing hours creating, creating and creating, was all part of my plan to make life a little more peachy. Then I realised, other folks out there are looking for the same thing. Creative ideas, inspirations and techniques with just a little bit of sass, to make their own lives just peachy too – so in the summer of 2013, Made Peachy was born.
